International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 36 represents 160,000 active and retired members in United States and Canada

Riverside, CA – The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 36 (IUPAT DC 36) has formally endorsed Gracie Torres for Riverside County Supervisor. IUPAT DC 36 represents over 160,000 active and retired members in the United States and Canada, as industrial and commercial painters, drywall finishers, wall coverers, glaziers, glass workers, floor covering installers, sign makers, display workers, convention and show decorators.

“We are excited to endorse Gracie Torres,” stated IUPAT District Council 36 Business Agent Tony De Trinidad. “This election is incredibly important to ensure working families and communities get a proven leader and voice on the Riverside County Board of Supervisors that speaks for us. Gracie’s experience as a local elected official and county employee will bring a much-needed perspective to enhance the workforce needs in Riverside County.”

Torres grew up in Riverside and is now raising her family in the community she was raised in. Her election in 2018 to the Western Municipal Water District, Division 2, showcased her ability to connect with voters throughout Riverside County as a first-time candidate. She was most recently re-elected in 2022, nearly securing 60% of the vote amongst a field of five candidates. 

“I am absolutely honored to receive the endorsement of the IUPAT District Council 36,” stated Gracie Torres. “I believe in a trained workforce through proven and certified apprenticeship programs to meet the needs of our community and economy. As a union-member, I know firsthand the importance of supporting our workers and look forward to doing so as a Riverside County Supervisor.”

About Gracie Torres

Gracie Torres currently serves as a member of Western Municipal Water District and works for Riverside County’s Flood Control and Conservation District. She earned her bachelor’s in chemistry and master’s in environmental science from California State University, San Bernardino. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in public administration from California Baptist University. Torres and her husband, Eric, are longtime residents of Riverside and raising their three children in the community.
