GRACIE TORRES is a lifelong Riverside resident, water quality expert, and dedicated public servant running to represent Ward 2 on the Riverside City Council. Humbly, she is the best and most qualified candidate in this race, bringing a proven track record of public service, strong name recognition in Ward 2, and a lifelong commitment to the city she has always called home.
Since her election in 2018 to the Board of Directors of the Western Municipal Water District, she has championed clean water, job creation, growing infrastructure for better water distribution, community growth, and transparency in government—delivering results by replacing aged infrastructure, bringing quality projects to the greater Riverside community, and voting against rate increases during economic downturns. In her first race, she won by a 25% margin, and in her re-election, by 35% and over 20,000 votes.
Aside from her elected public service, GRACIE is a public works professional who understands the intricacies of the capital improvement process and where gaps need to be addressed—giving her unique insight into how to work collaboratively to get things done. She has a proven record of bringing jobs to the Inland Empire and has worked directly with public safety officers and community groups to address homelessness, giving her an intimate understanding of the issue and the solutions that work.
A proud product of the Riverside Unified School District and Riverside City College, GRACIE holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Master’s in Environmental Science from Cal State San Bernardino and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Public Administration from California Baptist University. She is a small business owner and serves as an environmental planner for Riverside County. She also created BECA Angelita, a scholarship supporting students pursuing STEM fields, and serves on several nonprofit boards focused on social services, small business development, and education. Through her relentless mentorship, she uplifts and empowers young women to run for office and moves the needle by serving their communities.
As a working mother of three and lifelong union member, GRACIE has made creating good-paying jobs a cornerstone of her work. She has successfully pushed for and helped implement agreements that have brought quality employment opportunities to Riverside and the Inland Empire. By working closely with labor partners, local businesses, and community stakeholders, she has fostered collaborations that strengthen the regional economy and ensure residents have access to stable, well-paying careers.
Her campaign is focused on the priorities that matter: prioritizing local jobs and affordability, enhancing city services, and investing in public safety while addressing homelessness. Backed by the broadest, bipartisan coalition of support, GRACIE brings the experience, values, and work ethic needed to represent Ward 2. She knows this community, she has served this community, and she is ready to continue delivering for Riverside—before, during, and after her public service tenure.
